Description:

From Juneteenth 2020 forward I'm raising funds to abolish the system that rose in place of slavery: the modern prison industrial complex. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this print $25 are being donated to National Bail Out. I am doing this until I run out of prints, please help me get to the bottom of the pile.

More on the organization. "National Bail Out is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration."

I made this piece in the run-up to the 2008 presidential election. My feeling at that moment and today still, is that it is critical to think of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech as a call to action, requiring of us that we continually reimagine it for the present moment. This print is presented as a space where we each take responsibility for writing this dream. Collectively, we must put these dreams into action, doing the daily work of manifesting them into reality. Please contact me for details.
